Take a Walk

Maren Greene ‘24

Backpacking in the Rocky Mountains during late summer offers many splendors: the harshness of the tall rocky peaks juxtaposed by beautiful wildflowers and glowing morning light – though catching the latter requires a willingness to pull your sleepy, chilly, hungry a** out of the tent in the wee hours of the morning. If you reach the alpine, you might even be lucky enough to receive an invite to the local mountain goats' family reunion (it’s all fun and games until you are trying to pack out and they have your tent surrounded–watch where you swing your horns!!)

Images were taken on the indigenous land of the Tséstho’e (Cheyenne), hinono’eino’ biito’owu’ (Arapaho), and Núu-agha-tʉvʉ-pʉ̱ (Ute) peoples.
