Photographer Spotlight

“I started shooting on a DSLR during high school mostly as a way of documenting trips I went on and time spent with friends and family. However, I didn’t feel truly passionate about the photos I was taking until I started shooting film about a year ago. I found I was putting more attention and care into each photo I was taking since I had a limited amount of exposures, and I felt more proud of the outcomes knowing they were all shot in one attempt. I also enjoy the portability of a point-and-shoot film camera that you don’t get with a DSLR; it allows me to easily have a camera on-hand in any setting so that I’m able to document more of my everyday life. I feel most inspired to take photos while in the outdoors with people I love. Those are the times I feel happiest and that I especially love to look back on, plus I think the beauty of the outdoors is captured wonderfully on film.”
